Nancy O'Dell's debut job in the broadcast industry was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She then worked as an anchor in the morning and a reporter at WCBD TV. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reporting about the relaxed approach police take to DUI cases caused the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to states authorities again releasing the strictest guidelines regarding the instances.
